Learning My Dog is Diabetic

A multitude of concerns.

We learned yesterday that our seven-year-old black Labrador, Iris, is diabetic. The announcement blew me out of the water. I knew she was sick; she kept vomiting water up all night on New Year’s Day. But I honestly thought she had eaten something she shouldn’t have and that she might require surgery. Maybe cancer, which is what we lost our first black lab to. But diabetes…
